On Wednesday, Strack and Van Til hosted their annual Vendor Christmas Party for all of their vendors who regularly stock the popular grocery stores we shop at. The Vendor Christmas Party was held at St. James Hall in Highland. Representatives from each vendor company were able to enjoy a long buffet full of different meats and side dishes, including a festive table full of a variety of desserts.
Robert J. Franko, currently CEO of HealthFirst Bluegrass Community Health Center in Lexington, Kentucky, will become President and CEO of VNA of Northwest Indiana effective January 1, 2019. Franko is a native of Northwest Indiana. He was Vice President for Development and Marketing for Porter-Starke Services where he worked from 1996 to 2010. He was Marketing Vice President and National Training Coordinator for Cherokee Health Systems in Knoxville, TN, for six years before joining his present employer. Franko earned his BS and MBA Degrees from Purdue University.
The incredible impact that Jessica Shilling has made on the Northwest Indiana region makes you assume she is a Hoosier-native. However, for Shilling, Indiana was never on the agenda.
She grew up in St. Louis and met her forever sweetheart during a sand volleyball match; the journey had only just begun.
“I knew right off the bat that he was the one,” Shilling commented on meeting her husband at the time.
Two months into their relationship, he scored a job interview in East Chicago at Ameristar. The job spooled into a success, but left both Jessica and her beau at a blank about finding their forever home.
“As we started looking for places to live, people mentioned that we should live in Northwest Indiana, where the cost of living was obviously cheaper,” Shilling said.
