The Northview Elementary School Science Bowl Team continued its winning ways recently as they garnered their seventh straight State Championship in the Red Class of the 2014 Elementary Science Bowl competition.
Hard working team members recalled and applied significant scientific facts and worked cooperatively with teammates to successfully solve challenging questions and activities which were based upon Science Standards for grades 5 & 7.
The annual competition is designed for elementary school students in grades 4, 5 and 6 and is sponsored by the Indiana Association of School Principals. The 90-minute online contest includes a group answer round, an individual round, and an experiment round. The total score is determined by combining the scores from all three rounds.
Northview's 1st place finish led very respectable showings from other Valparaiso schools. Hayes Leonard finished in 2nd place and Central (Valparaiso) finished in 5th place in the Red Class while Flint Lake placed 5th in the Orange Class.
