An intense summer rain did nothing to dampen the spirits of the large group gathered at 7th and Franklin in Michigan City on Thursday evening. Michigan City welcomed back Roger Brooks to kick off the public outreach campaign. Brooks will design the downtown civic plaza being built next year. Stanley Cup Coming to Valparaiso


The most coveted trophy in sports, the iconic Stanley Cup, is coming to Valparaiso’s William E. Valpo Parks Foundation Officially Opens Samardzija Field at Tower Park


After months of strenuous work and constant planning, the Valpo Parks Foundation opened Samardzija Field at Tower Park. The Valpo community came together on Friday to honor the field that Jeff Samardzija, a professional pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, his family members, and other stakeholders in the Valpo community broke ground on in the fall of 2017. After the ribbon cutting ceremony, Valpo’s youth players took to the field for the first time.

The first week of summer camp, which is held at the 122-acre Rogers-Lakewood Park, begins June 4. The camp consists of nine weeks of day camps and are available for boys and girls, preschool thru entering ninth grade, and are divided into age-appropriate groups.
