Chicago Street Brings "Every Christmas Story Ever Told" and "Classical Blast" to the Stage In the 2015 Holiday Season

You can't spell "Christmas" without "CST" and Chicago Street Theatre has the perfect holiday gift for their grown-up audiences with the comedy, Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!) running December 11 through 20. Fans of the group's past productions of A Tuna Christmas and The Santaland Diaries will love this holiday treat that combines the worlds of Scrooge, It's a Wonderful Life, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and many, many others into a hilarious attempt to present them all.

Instead of performing A Christmas Carol for the umpteenth time, three actors decide to tackle a show that celebrates every holiday tradition, song, and Christmas Special they can think of in this madcap romp that will leave audiences in stitches. Directed by Dona Henry, Kelly Hite and Caroline Rau, Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!) is written by John K. Alvarez, Michael Carleton, and James FitzGerald and features the talents of Bill Carns (Lake Station), Brian Kogut (Kouts) and Marty Weisenbacher (Valparaiso). Hite, who has directed many of the holiday shows with Henry, said, "This was a chance for Dona and I to visit many of the Christmas plays we've directed and some ones we haven't in a funny, funny way." Chicago Street Theatre selected the play as a grown-up alternative to Junie B. Jones The Musical which is geared to a more "family friendly" audience.

Tickets are available through the CST Box Office and online at ChicagoStreet.org. Box Office hours are weekdays and Saturday Noon to 4PM and two hours prior to show times. Call 219-464-1636 X1 for tickets and to take advantage of our great group discounts. Seating is limited and reservations are strongly encouraged. During the holidays patrons can also purchase CST's Viewer's Choice Gift cards and Holiday Bags for the theatre lover on their shopping list. These gifts allow the recipient to enjoy the rest of the theatre's 61st season with an eclectic mix of shows including: The Lieutenant of Inishmore; Nancy Drew: Girl Detective; Orson's Shadow; Wash, Dry, Fold; and Shakespeare's The Tempest.

Audiences are invited to celebrate the holidays even more after the show with the cast and crew at an Opening Night Party hosted by Valley Kitchen & Bar on Friday, December 11 and at a Happy After Party at Good to Go by Lucrezia on Friday, December 18. In addition to the post show parties is also the theatre's popular Thursday Talkback performance on December 17 that gives the audience an opportunity to discuss the comedy with the cast and directors.

On Sunday, December 13, Chicago Street Theatre's One Night Jam concert series is excited to present A Very Classical Blast Christmas with regional favorites Classical Blast on the theatre's mainstage at 8PM. Tickets to this unique evening of holiday favorites are also available online and through the Chicago Street Box Office. The all-ages show is just $20 for Adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Classical Blast perform rock inspired versions of holiday music on classical instruments for a truly original listening experience. Seating is limited so reservations are strongly recommended.
