The Production of A Christmas Story at the Memorial Opera House was an evening of joy, laughter, and excellent teamwork as the cast prepared for this winter classic. The evening began with an introduction of the cast and was followed by rehearsal. The incredible performances by the young actors captured everyone’s attention. Each Christmas, this story is seen on television by many. There was something very special, however, about seeing it live. The message of the story is its most powerful characteristic, as it remains timeless because it continues to speak to families and connect communities together.

On Saturday night, NIETF held their 25th Annual Silver Soiree Awards Gala and the celebration was nothing short of spectacular. Chicago Street Theatre kicks off its 2017/2018 season with the return of the family favorite. How to Eat Like a Child and Other Lessons in Not Being a Grown-Up running August 25 through September 9. The musical, which was originally performed by CST in 2009, played to SOLD-OUT houses and the theatre troop decided to bring it back to celebrate their 20th anniversary at their Chicago Street home. The whimsical journey through childhood written by Delia Ephron, John Forster, and Judith Kahn gives audiences twenty-three lessons in the joys and anxieties of how to be a kid through hilarious scenes and witty songs.
