Christian rock band Sevenglory spent two weeks touring in Kenya, Africa. The Valparaiso-based band conducted their fast-paced Into All the World tour at the invitation of Nairobi Chapel. Band members Kurt Felsman, Gabe Johannes, Caleb Johannes, and Jeff Smith joined Nairobi Chapel’s music and entertainment team, K-Krew, for concerts throughout the country.

The Valparaiso University Graduate School’s Arts and Entertainment Administration program is hosting a trip to see Verdi’s Otello at the Lyric Opera on Monday, October 21st. All members of the community are invited to attend. Students, faculty, and friends from the community will meet at Valparaiso University on Monday, October 21st for a 3 p.m. bus ride to Chicago. The first stop will be an authentic Chinese dinner at the award-winning Lao Sze Chuan restaurant in Chinatown. The group will then head to the Lyric Opera for a pre-performance talk about Otello followed by a 7:30 p.m. show. The bus will then return the group to the Valparaiso University campus. The Indiana University Northwest Alumni Association invites the community to take an all-day bus tour of Chicago chocolatiers on Saturday, Oct. 19.
The bus leaves from IU Northwest’s north parking lot at 10:30 a.m. and will return by 6 p.m. (CST).
The Purdue North Central Women's Association will take its fall bus trip to Chicago on Saturday, Oct. 5 to visit Chicago's Magnificent Mile and the John Hancock Observatory and see a performance of "To Master The Art." There will be time for lunch and shopping. Men and young adults are welcome to attend.
The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority is continuing its 30 Stops in 30 Days campaign with scheduled stops in St. John, Crown Point, Rensselaer, Hammond, Munster and Schererville. The 30 Stops in 30 Days campaign takes the South Shore Tour Mobile throughout the South Shore, promoting attractions, festivals, businesses and events during the South Shore CVA’s 30th anniversary celebration.
