Lisa Formosa-Parmingiano is an important member of the community as she continues to inspire others with her incredible knowledge of the theater while providing a space to master various acting techniques. She believes there are aspects of the theater that can contribute to the journey of self discovery and lead to active self awareness. She acts as the Director of Education at Chicago Street Theatre, where she administers the Teen Ensemble, the Great Teen Festival, and takes on many other duties that involve the theatre, such as writing grants.
As Autumn sets in, so begins the great events to enjoy this time of year! Katherine “Katrina” Gootee is a great student. She’s responsible, organized, and participates in extracurriculars while maintaining excellent grades. She has many friends in the high school and is a very kind and respectable student.

“I participate in Women’s Chorus, Girl’s Swimming and Diving, and Spell bowl.”

“I see myself pursuing a CSI major as a sophomore in an undergrad college; most likely ND or VU.”
What do you think of our high school?
“I think it has a lot of great opportunities. I see great things for VHS in the years ahead.”
In Valparaiso, the Popcorn Fest is a tradition. People from all throughout the community come together to celebrate. Community organizations, school sports, clubs, and many others march in the parade down Lincoln Way. People young and old run in the Popcorn Panic and enjoy themselves at the festival to follow.
Dona and Jim Henry are a passionate couple who are eager about their love of volunteering and the theater. They want to tell their story in hopes to spread their mission.

While there were many new students that have decided to attend East Porter County schools, there are also several new teachers that have joined. Katie Goldbranson, an eager teacher that is elated to begin her career at Kouts, is one amongst the many that have migrated to the small town.
Being in the business field is not only about studying and being passionate about companies, it is also about creating relationships with people in order to become successful and well-qualified. Judy Kukelka of Valparaiso has grown passionate about creating relationships within the Northwest Indiana community through her new job at StoryPoint Senior Living, and has become very successful and inspiring to the surrounding communities.
